Federal District Judge Indira Talwani said the U.S. Postal Service violated a nationwide injunction by issuing President Donald Trump‘s mail-ballot rule for the November election, but declined to impose additional relief that would prevent its scheduled publication.
“Defendants cannot contend that they misunderstood the scope of the court’s order”, Talwani, an appointee of former President Barack Obama, wrote in her five-page ruling.
“Accordingly, despite the Defendants’ protestations that ‘The United States takes its obligation to comply with court orders very seriously’, the court finds that Defendants violated the preliminary injunction in this case.”

While well-intentioned, President Trump’s plan to temporarily permit more foreign beef imports into America without paying higher tariffs will only exacerbate the long-term stock shortage in the cattle industry, and it will directly lead to higher long-term beef prices.
Beef is a very cyclical industry, largely driven by the fact that it takes nine months to create a new calf, and another year or two (at a minimum) to bring it to market and process it.
Because of the difficulty of predicting demand that far out, plus the difficulty of matching supply to that demand, we end up with big swings in prices in every five-to-10-year cycle.
Right now, we are at the price peak in the cycle. The only way to bring prices back down is to increase the supply, and that can only happen when farmers choose to retain cows to breed and grow the stock instead of selling them today. This is called heifer retention.
Instead of looking for short-term Band-Aids to mask the beef price problem heading into the midterms, the administration should instead focus on ways to incentivize heifer retention in order to increase long-term cattle supply.

A bookshelf in Abdul El-Sayed's living room—which he sought to conceal from a documentary film crew in 2018—contained works by an unindicted co-conspirator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, a member of an Islamic group that sought to establish a Sharia-governed state, and a Muslim cleric whose writings have influenced al Qaeda and other major terrorist groups.
The living room bookshelf came into frame as El-Sayed—now the Michigan Democratic Senate nominee—showed off his wedding pictures during a scene in How to Fix a Primary, a documentary about his failed 2018 gubernatorial bid.
During the scene, El-Sayed was filmed pointing to his bookshelf as he asked the filmmakers to “not get these things in the shot” because he wanted to “keep the shot secular”.
But the filmmakers ultimately provided a close-up shot of the bookshelf, which contained a copy of the Quran and about three dozen texts analyzing various aspects of the Muslim faith, several by Islamic extremists.

This Is Simply Not To Be Believed. The FBI has told a federal court that, at a rate of 500 pages a month, processing 2 million pages of records from the “Hidden Room” at FBI Headquarters would take approximately 158 years.
“The Room” — now dubbed the “Burn Bag Room” — holds over 2 million pages of records, according to the FBI’s own filing. Then-Deputy Director Bongino said in May 2025 that some of the records were found stashed “In Bags”.
In the filing, Judicial Watch asked the court to allow it to question the FBI, through a limited deposition, about its handling of the records — including who discovered the room and when, who had access to it, its security classification, how records ended up stored in file cabinets, safes, boxes, and burn bags, what the FBI has done to bring them under standard records management, and whether the records were ever searched in response to other FOIA requests.
In its response, FBI reports that it has yet to access a safe believed to contain records. The agency also alleges that “it will take approximately 158 years to process at a rate of 500 pages a month”.

The White House Transparency Task Force during the Obama Administration dropped the new documents under the title “Rusty Thumbs”, another moniker given to the woman whose real name is Christine Fang.
Fang, who fled to China in 2015 as the FBI closed in, spent years cozying up to rising California Democrats, helping bundle donations for Swalwell's 2014 re-election campaign and even placing an intern in his congressional office.
